I only have AOS.exe and its files, dropped them in their own folder in
/Program Files/ and ran as admin.

I didn't have to do anything special to get it to run on my Win7/64
Did you install SatPC32 to the default folder (Program Files\SatPC32)?
User Account Control can cause problems if programs are installed to the
Files folder, and you are not running as Administrator.
