Howard has written a number of practical hands-on articles for The AMSAT Journal and AMSAT-UK's OSCAR News. Here are the ones we have available:

• Microsat Operation with the PK-232. This article is specifically about using the PK-232, but users of other TNCs may also find it useful.
• The Lindenblad: The Ultimate Satellite Omni Antenna. This article describes a project to better understand the Lindenblad antenna, and gives details on how to construct one. Beware: this article contains lots of pictures.
• A Mode J Desense Filter. This article gives construction details for a filter that can reduce the problem of receiver desense in a Mode J satellite station. Adapted from The Radio Amateur's Handbook, 1980.
• Transmitter and Receiver Modifications for the FT-736R and Other Rigs for Microsat Operation. This article describes modifications for the Yaesu FT-736R transceiver for both 1200 baud PSK and 9600 baud FSK operation. Many of the general principles and techniques will apply to other equipment.
• Satellite Antennas Hints and Kinks. This article passes along many important tips on designing and building antenna systems for a satellite station. This one also has quite a few pictures.
• Telemetry Reception with the PK-232. This articles describes how to receive RTTY telemetry from AO-13 and ASCII telemetry from UO-11 using the AEA PK-232.
