The Kenwood TH-D74 does have audible readout which may be helpful for those with visual impairments if they are looking for a hand held radio, but its not full duplex but will allow reception of the transponder satellites given its SSB RX capabilities. The Kenwood TS-2000 may however be the best overall option available today.

Phil & anyone else,
I would be interesting on information on this as well. There is a fellow
club member that is interested in trying satellites. Of course I said that
I would help him to be best of my (limited) ability, so anything to help
make that more successful would be appreciated.
