Hello Kevin,

Glad you are finding information and sharing it.

AMSAT does offer a publication specifically to assist the newcomer "Getting 
Started With Amateur Satellites", available at the AMSAT store.  It has 
yearly updates and many years of input that cover most everything that those 
new to satellites need to know.

It is offered at a reasonable price and AMSAT receives all the proceeds.
