Contact Scott Malcom, KA7MEF Technician and Lead Go'fer at MTS Repair.
Scott worked for Icom Service, when this radio was new, and should be able to provide
the necessary insight for your work.
He also has access to some parts from junked/donor radios of that classic Icom era.

Has anyone replaced the female N connector on the IC 471A, 25 watt tranceiver PA module? It seems as if the heat sink is trapped between the N connector barrel and the PA circuit board. Unless the connector barrel pulls off of the pin, I see no way of removing it, or the circuit board to get at the pin. I don't want to use to much force in pulling off the barrel. Perhaps heating the pin might release the barrel. Any suggestions? Should I send it to Icom and let them worry about it?
