Hi, thank you very much for the clarification. I asked about 96kbps
because I thought it was a new mode, compared to the original specs of
the AO-51, but if it is only 9600 bps, then I am much relieved. Of
course I am ok with referring to this as a 9k6 and 9.6K, so if someone
used 9.6kbps and the "decimal" was dropped, that is perhaps how the
incorrect nomenclature came into usage.
However, to continue that thought, the GMSK modem onboard the AO-51 is
capable I think of many higher baudrates. Is there a definitive list
of modulation/data rates that have been used so far ? From the
published AMSAT Journal articles that I have on hand, the baud rate
possible is 300 bps to 56 kbps.
Any suggestions ?
