PCSAT-11 has a downlink on 144.39 over the USA for people that
are not otherwise totally saturated with local APRS 144.39
traffic. That is why you will occasionally see PCSAT-11 packets
on your mobile (that doesn't see as much QRM) as a base station
or DIGI would hear. If you are in a canyon or a very remote
USA area, you will see these packets a few times a day. We have
never really found a use for this downlink since everyone that
is into APRS has plenty of terrestrial traffic. Also, PCSAT is
only useful a few times a year when it is in full sun. Such a
period is approaching the first week of January. The rest of
what you saw, was me commanding it. Just making sure it will
talk to me later when it enters full sun. Bob, WB4APR
